RED LETTER HYPOCRISY

30

Reading a post from the Red Letter Christians today and you would assume the name Red Letter would mean Jesus’ words alone, but you would be quite wrong if you did.

The article was on a protester that protested the Trump Chicago rally because in their mind Trump is a racist. Why, because Trump in the past has called people names and wants to build a boarder.

Now mind you I’m not a Trump supporter, I have a different candidate that I am supporting but this is not the point.

Tony Campolo and his Red Letters don’t see the hypocrisy in all this as a matter of fact they publish the hypocrisy.

What is the hypocrisy, it is that one can protest a candidate because they don’t like them. Let’s call him a racist because he shoots his mouth off now and again but nothing about why Biblically one needs to disrupt presidential rally.

Never mind the candidate supports abortion, has no clue of what it means to be a true Christian, has no intentions and will not repent of any violations of God moral code even though he believes to be a Christian and this from a group that insist they follow the words of Jesus.

The second hypocrisy is the protester makes it plain that Trump is the target based on he called people names making him a racist. Let’s forget that two candidates Bernie Sanders and Hilary Clinton have promised abortion on demand be the main stay law of the land if elected. There will be no protection for the unborn with a democratic candidate with both candidates in clear violation of the 6th and 8th commandments but I guess red letters don’t agree those are worth protesting.

Amazing how progressive Christians won’t see truth because it clouds their agenda. True sin in the mind of a liberal Christian is negative emotions; it is symbolism over substance something well defined in the Red Letter Christian.

SYMBOLISM OVER SUBSTANCE

confederate-flag-1-1400x650

Some of us out here in the west may feel the lasted issue with the confederate flag banning to be small but I don’t feel it is. There is more here and southern life is being touted down this is not a good thing.

It holds a larger meaning to both the people who live and love there states along with southern pride and concept of common sense is being trampled on in the name of emotional symbolism.

The symbolism is the confederate flag and how some people feel the true meaning is racism, while others look at the substance of the real problem and know banning a flag will solve nothing.

The real issue with racism is sin and taking way objects or banning flags might pacify some it does nothing to address the actual problem of race relations.

The flag itself is a historical references and symbol to southern pride, rebellion of then the current federal government and the freedom of states and their peoples right to succeed or leave the federal union.

Unfortunately for the south slavery was an important part of their economic development and without slaved labor they would be inferior to the industrial North.

By no means is slavery moral or ethical and not every person who lived in the southern states owned or condoned slavery but many condoned the action of succession and leaving the current union.

In 1992 a Clinton Gore presidential campaign button was designed around the confederate flag, now did this mean the Clintons were trying to sure up all the white racist votes?

flag

Nonsense, being from two southern states the Clinton Gore campaign was showing their southern pride, if they garnered a few extra votes from white power so be it (only joking).

The hysterical and emotional frenzy of the symbolic nature of the confederate flag could be dealt with in two ways. Let the frenzy go on hoping eventually the hysteria will die down and go away and by this time next year no one remembers.

Another way is for our leaders spiritual, academic and political to take control and educate the symbolism and the substance of what the root of the issue is about.

Although thus far a few spiritual leaders have weighed in on the issue we have seen little or no academic presence and the political leadership has been very poor but is that surprising.

Political leaders will only address this issue based on the path of least resistance; they will take the side of which democracy complains the most and do their best not to insult both the symbolic emotional side and the substance side.

To the politician both sides are votes to win from so taking one side or another is a no win game thus making this into a game of winning votes not morally siding with the truth.

This is call this is bad democracy and its at its worst, people need leaders to make decisions based on a republic not a democracy in this kind of setting.

Bad democracy is majority rules regardless the outcome based on self interest. It’s a democracy of many but of selfish interest, either from the many or condoned by the leadership for their own self interest.

While academia sits on its laurels history is being misguided by hysteria. The one institution that should know the soul of the confederate flag says nothing.

The root of the problem is sin, racism is sin and no symbolic gesture to ban or permanent removal of a flag will fix the substance issue of sin.

Politicians tend to avoid sin as a word, finding a good statesman in this day is hard to come by.

If anything politics will run for the aid of science to help define sin in a more politically correct way without using the Bible or God, it’s rarely done but give it time our president is giving it a try right now.

This leaves our spiritual and academic leaders to calm the waters. We are in need of spiritual leaders to confront the root of the sustenance which is sin.

They need to offer the service of dealing with this sin and most of all the healing act of repentance of the sin.

The academics can offer truth in history which should have been done at the grade school level all the way through college.

The combination of calling out the substance of racism as sin with the historical value of truth defining what the substance of the symbolic nature of the confederacy was.

What can the common sense person do, unfortunately the common man is losing his and her grip in this world but stay strong seek and study truth in God.

Study and know the history of this nation. This will not be the last time history will be attacked by symbolic nonsense so be prepared.
