MIXING TWO WORLD VIEWS

The reason why I write this blog is based on that I believe the idea of God creating the universe based in millions and billions of years only compromises with the secular world view and it has implications that are far more reaching than just difference of opinion.

If you have the time here is a nice little debate or conversation between the idea of young earth and old earth via Ken Ham and Hugh Ross. Ken Ham is young earth and backs his theology by scripture while Ross is old earth that is trying to interpret scripture and the Bible with the idea of fitting millions of years into the Biblical historical picture.

Most secularists will say both proponents Ham and Ross are wrong because the universe is billions of years old.

What I find as the problem with the old earth belief is there is not good evidence and you have to add to scripture to make the point while the young earth is better equipped to follow scripture.

Interesting out of a panel of six on this show, five of the guest believed in a young earth and one (Ross) believes in an old earth that included the big bang.

Out of that 5 only three so it was split evenly (with Ross being the 6th), but only three Ken Ham, Ray Comfort and Eric Hovid believed the scripture was more clear on the idea of each day as it was created by God (day being 24 hours) and that this statement of scripture was very important, not only understanding Biblical creation but it aided in the understanding of Biblical knowledge for everyone.

The interpretation of each creation day being one day (24 hour day) is important to teach people based on if we demand that people believe in the parting of the red seas, a virgin woman getting pregnant by the Holy Spirit and a man dying and coming back to life. How then can we tell people that in Genesis God was not talking about 24 hour day but he meant millions of years and that the passages of Genesis aids itself more to how modern science interprets the age of the earth via millions and billions of years.

On one end we demand people believe in supernatural events but in Genesis we compromise and say there is nothing supernatural how God created the universe. That statement maybe a bit over the top due to that Christians believing in a creation of a million years still view it as supernatural but the idea of God creating the world in 6 days has to be agreed as a bit more of a supernatural event than using a naturalistic way to explain creation.

Sean McDowell and John Bloom from Biola University were more on the fence of Biblical interpretation, McDowell even so far as to going there and saying so much as can we really know the true interpretation from Greek, Hebrew to English. I chalk McDowell statement to his youth; this statement is what secularist use to kill the conversation on Christians that don’t know there Biblical history or believe in actual words of our Biblical authors and we cannot accept such a statement.

Bloom and McDowell were willing to question interpretation while Comfort, Ham and Hovid felt that the Bible was God’s breathed word that all can know, people could know then (thousands of years ago) we can know now. 1 Timothy 3:16 Ephesians 4:11-16 and Hebrews 11: 1-40

McDowell and Bloom walk a slippery slope that will have you back peddling trying to explain Biblical truth in a sea of secular lies and it does not have to be that way if we take scripture at its word.

I believe Ross is trading certainty for truth and McDowell and Bloom are entertaining that idea as well Bloom more so than McDowell.

The truth is we can know scripture and what it says, understanding that not everyone will completely get what is being stated in every book or letter but the main theme of the Bible is God and following God. His grace to us and for us and how and why he did what he did for his creation.

You will see at the end of the video Ross offers a truce and I have no doubt Ross was very sincere just as I have no doubt Ross is a Bible believing man of God. The problem I have with Ross’s truce is it is not as the same way we can view the main purpose of truth from such men as George Whitfield and John Wesley.

Whitfield was a strong preacher of election with his main theme on salvation, while Wesley was a strong preacher on the will to know God with the main theme on salvation so we see two men that preached different styles had the same theme and that was salvation. This is what made these men great in the eyes of Biblical history the final authority was God and his salvation for you.

Ross’s truce is genuine but misguided based on the issue we live in different times than Wesley and Whitfield did; the average person had a standard of who was God and the respect of who God was not to mention being a pastor or evangelist during the 1700’s was a very respectable position.

Today’s western world does not respect God as it once did nor has a standard of who God is. Today’s western world does not respect men like Ross or Ham they view them as the enemy. People like Bill Nye who puts out hate messages that parents that teach creation are abusing their children.

We can easily see why main stream media and science who is desperate to be the grand daddy of all authority of life will mock and tear down our children and young people in the public arena.

How can we as Christians tell our children God did all these great supernatural things but that stuff in Genesis may not be literal, can you see why liberal Churches are not teaching that Jesus died or was born of a virgin, compromise to secularism to be relevant in today’s world is the in thing for people and Churches that think this is the only way to get people to God.

The difference between Ross and Ham is that Ham uses the Bible to interpret scripture for both knowing God and understanding God in a Biblical context with the final goal preaching the word of God for the purpose of following Jesus to salvation. Ross uses the Bible to prove science is correct and prove there is a God while returning a standard of the belief in God to science and while this is important without the notion of one following Jesus and putting God first before all things there is no real hope for people to know God.

Final thoughts I know those six men, Ham, Comfort, Hovid, Ross, McDowell and Bloom  are good men of God and I know they want the best for bringing the Gospel to all people but the western world we live in is now requiring we either go with the world or against the world.

Trying to compromise or make a hybrid world view with a mix of some world and some Christianity will not work. It is not Biblical to mix Holiness with evil 1 Corinthians 15:33, like my old youth pastor use to say, two rivers running into each other, one is flowing clear blue water the other is dirty brown water and when the two come together and mix the clear blue water turns to dirty brown. The two cannot mix.

THE EASY WAY

31

Time to go to war with Islam or with those evil sects that Islam breads”, this is the easy way for people, heads of states and leaders of countries to say yet most never attempt.

It’s a complete symptom of when people and  countries that deny God in order to maintain that it is fair and just for everyone all the while allowing sects of religions and beliefs that has no real regard to humanity just its own to grow and live unassimilated and in contempt of lives and countries that all the while have taken them in, fed them and protected them.

The easy way out is “let’s go to war” but how many times has mankind done this. How may people have shed blood over and over to beat back evil but never confront and deal with evil.

Because if they confront one form of evil they will have to eventually confront another from, a form that is much closer to home. A form of evil they themselves have taken in, fed and protected all the while that evil has had no regard for them and their families and is in contempt of their lives, their states and their countries

The hard way that few, if any want to try will requires people to admit secularism, humanism and naturalism and all the idols of their personal lives have failed. The hard way is for people to say “it’s time we repent” and start converting them to follow Jesus.

Romans 14:11 or it is written,“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”

A COMMON SYMPTOM, STATEMENT 1

A COMMON SYMPTOM ( 10 statements unbelievers don’t believe about the Bible)

The other day a blog popped up  focusing on 10 statements that this Christian (this being the writer of the blog) does not believe about the Bible on one of the Christian Blogger feeds, what sparked my attention was that the blogger known for his liberal stand in Christianity. Further reading one can come to the conclusion that if this person was a Bible believing Christian this blog would be considered heresy.

Why I’m writing this blog is not to tear down this blogger but to show the lack of understanding of Christianity and what it means to follow Jesus and to show these statements are nothing new but a common symptom of  people that truely do not either believe or understand The God of the Bible and and or what it means to be a Christian.

Whether you are a non believer or a believer that is on the theological fence of Christianity I would like to contrast what our blogger here has written and show what Christians know to be true. Feel free to read the article for yourself to decide where you stand on the faith and words of Jesus Christ, God, the Holy Spirit and the faith of Christianity.

Because these statements are common in today’s world view I will take each statement as its own otherwise this can become a long drawn out blog so in order to keep your attention we will focus one statement at a time and this is statement 1

I don’t believe the Bible was dictated by God. The sixty-six books comprising the Bible were composed by flawed, imperfect, emotional, very human beings who never claim to have been fully possessed by God or robbed of their faculties as they wrote. This means that however virtuous or well-meaning or inspired they might have been, they can’t help but have brought some of themselves into the writing.”

This is a common belief by non believers and a belief by what we call “so called Christians”, liberal Christians and Universalist. 2nd Timothy 3:16 squashes this idea “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness”

If a person argues the Bible is not true and that goes for historical and scientific evidence then the argument is over because that kind of logic then must be taken for all books written on history or science, philosophy then become the only thing we can trust. You will find it hard to have a conversation with someone that does not believe the Bible is based on real event no matter how historically accurate it is.

Throwing the historical and scientific evidence aside we as Christians must believe beyond historical and scientific evidence. We must believe the Gospel is the inspired word of God, all 66 books are by God and point to Jesus and that is our faith that justifies us for his Grace.

If the Bible is true then it is all true otherwise it is all a lie. You cannot say “well some of it is true based on the historical documents” but the rest is hocus pocus. If you take that route you then have to define what is real and what is not, all historical and scientific references are real but the rest is well interpretation.

You now are going on a cherry picking search for evidence that only satisfies you and your own morality; the Bible then becomes useless and offers no real good substance for anyone but only what I need for my wants and needs and makes my arguments valid.

If we are going to take the Bible, the scriptures as the sole word of God as it is intended then we must answer this statement based on the sole authority of the scripture and not just ones opinion or good thoughts.

The statement above rejects the Bible as being the sole authority of the scriptures being the word of God and if you take that line of thinking then the rest of the statements that I will go over will easily make sense to anybody because the above statement is saying yes there might be a God but the Bible is not his only word so you cannot trust it alone.

Exodus 31:18 says God not only spoke with Moses but used his finger to write the 10 commandments. Are we to believe Moses just made up the commandments used his own thoughts of what they the 10 Commandment should be, can you see the absurdity to this.

With that logic anyone could rewrite or add to the basics of these commandments. When we stop and say “the Bible is not inspired” or “the Bible is not the word of God” then that person has to ask what is the Bible for? Good thoughts and inspiration?

Christians that believe this sort of theology normally enjoy the words of Jesus and few will attack his word but you cannot then say “the Bible is not the inspired word of God” without making the statement Jesus is not God. When you say or think the Bible is not the sole word of God you then attack the word of God. When you attack God you attack the Holy Spirit and when you attack the Holy Spirit you attack Jesus; if you attack one part of God you attack all three persons of God.

In John 14: 1-14 Jesus is saying if you see him you see the father (God). What was John adding to this verse. Was he repeating what Jesus actually said or was John trying to add or advance  his own wants and needs to this verse so it reads Jesus is God. If we are to believe John added his own thoughts and not the inspired words of the Holy Spirit then we have to question was Jesus God; something non believers want to be questioned.

2nd Peter 1:16 “For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty”

For a person to think the Bible is not inspired by God is a person that does not believe in God nor do they believe in Jesus as the Son of God. Peter is saying we the disciples  witnessed everything, if we are to believe Peter is making some of this up or adding his own biases and is not inspired solely by God then 2nd Peter is a fraud, correct?

Romans 1: 1-4  Paul, a servant[a] of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning his Son, who was descended from David[b] according to the flesh and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord

Paul declares Jesus to be the messiah, Paul declares Jesus to be God, so if we are to believe this is not inspired but just Paul’s own thoughts and biases then Jesus cannot be God based on any of the New Testament writers.

The New Testament becomes a feel good book based on good philosophy and warm thoughts. Jesus death  was all symbolism and Steven died for nothing.

As we can see Paul validates Peter who validates John who validates Moses.

The statement above allows one to have his or hers own view on God, morality, right and wrong. The Bible is merely a yard stick to measure your own ideas. As long as they don’t hurt anyone we can use any good book that teaches right and wrong. Problem is where did those books get right from wrong and who said those right and wrongs are indeed right and wrong.

The above statement is a world view, not a Biblical or Godly world view. It allows you to turn away from God and view anything as good or bad. The above statement is saying the Bible is not “The Word of God”. This is a concept of a deity based belief that a God created the world in some way now it is up to us to figure it out. We can use Jesus, Buddah, or eastern religion to sort out things out.

WHO DO YOU FOLLOW?

martin luther

1 Corinthians 6:12 I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.

Whether we like it or not we humans follow something or somebody, we humans make a god out of something and we serve it.

I know if you’re an atheist, secularist or agnostic you will refute this claim but you would be lying to yourself.

The Christian tries to serve one god the God of the Bible but sometimes even the best intentions leads service to more than one master.

Hindi’s might serve or worship many Gods maybe even some gods that are not in the Hindu culture.

Atheist want to believe they serve no god, secularist hold on to this but it is not true we all serve someone or something otherwise your mind is dead to everything.

In general we all serve something, we all hold on to something whether we are proud of it or not we hold to something. Christian tell themselves God is my God but is he your only god?

Is fame what you seek, money, power, pleasure; these are gods to every person when they become the focal point of your life. As Christians we call this idolatry and what is an idol, it’s nothing more than a god to tide you over until you are fulfilled. Problem is these idols these gods won’t fulfill you they never have and never will. Acts 4:12; power and pleasure will not save you only Jesus can.

Christians that put God first in their lives will have a higher rate of personal success than putting other things or sharing God with other idols Proverbs 16:3 as a matter of truth we cannot share idols or God Matthew 6:24. We cannot serve two masters eventually we will throw away one and serve the other.

For the non believer who thinks God is for the weak minded you too serve something or somebody. How many are devoted to science and men like Hawkings, Dawkins or other persons of so called reason. How much time does pornography take your life, can you stay away from it from one day, two days, a week? Does money rule your house and your life, booze or drugs?

What about our toys and this goes for us all, motorcycles, cars, houses, how many of us obsess over these things so much they dictate where and what we do.

For the Christian sharing God won’t last but we can put our trust if we stand on Jesus to help us serve him and him alone. Proverbs 3:1-35 and 2 Timothy 2:15

For the Hindi or the Buddhist they care not that they follow more than one God, the Hindi expects it and the Buddhist might chalk it up to existence. Devout atheist want to deny any idea of a god is possible but one only needs to look how important idols are to the human. The human may not believe or except the idea of idolatry but that idea is irrelevant in reality especially if you believe you live in a world that is relative.

Who will you serve, people of power or influence (dictators, presidents, men of influence, rock starts celebrities) or pleasure (sex pornography, TV, maybe gambling) or will you reject them all and serve Jesus, the one that frees you from your idols. Galatians 3:22  But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe

TUESDAY MEMES 1

alta net

I saw this gem on a friend’s FB page some time ago and what intrigued me was it’s from AlterNet. If you do not know who AlterNet is you can check them out but I can give you the short version here. They are a liberal e-mag rag that does nothing to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ that I’m sure of.

On first glance you can see this is AlterNet pointing their finger at both the Christian and the atheist, “shame on you two for arguing so much on a petty subject while people or being slandered.

One only has to think its ISIS that is destroying the world and who are they destroying? I think they are called Christians and Jews or anyone that disagrees with ISIS. Yes ISIS has been destroying priceless artifacts and monuments but hey people are getting their heads chopped off for just believing differently of Islam.

First who is fighting over whom, both Christians and Jews both believe the one true God of the Bible who created the world. Even Islam believes one God created the world but I don’t see Christian Jews and atheist killing each other over it.

Atheists believe in a bang although science is finding more and more that such a bang can’t be. Islam ideology fits more in line with evolution; it believes in one God but allows evolution to work its magic as Richard Dawkins would call it as evolution does its creation of everything internal. Still I have yet to see atheist and Christians kill each other because one believes in magic and the other believes in  intelligent design.

So where is the fight, Christianity does not fight but holds to a belief in the God of the Bible creating the world. They hold that it should be taught in school whether it is science or philosophy they believe it holds a place in education.

It’s mainly the atheist, the secularist and the humanist that argue the creation of the universe. It’s those groups that fight both in and out of the classroom to ban the thought of Christianity from the conversation. Childlike men such as Lawrence Krauss who say parents that teach their children creation is a form of child abuse; anything goes unless it’s about God right Lawrence.

I have said as have others that Islam (ISIS) is more of a threat to the world than the small percentage of atheism and I still stand by that. I would love to see the atheist give up or at least be willing to have a coexisting conversation on how the world began but they will not in a public forum like education. Unlike the Christian it is not in the atheist/secularist  best interest and belief  to embrace a world not created by God.

Mind you Christians argue amongst themselves over how God created the universe and the world we live in but one thing they do agree on is God and God alone was the creator.

Yes there is debate amongst atheist on the big bang and evolution but the one thing that unites them is their belief that there is no God.

Can Christians and atheist stop fighting like AlterNet wants them to, considering whom AlterNet is I think they should take a page from the quote they stand on. The answer is no, because that is the world we live it.

Atheists fight for our hearts and minds, it asks us to believe their theories and study those theories founded mainly in conjecture.

Christianity fights for our hearts and minds, it ask us to believe in a God, in a way of life and to study that belief in a book known as the Bible. Transcripts that have been historically accurate (Bible). Christianity asks we give our lives to a God and believe in a man called Jesus that many eye witnessed and wrote about.

ISIS fights for our hearts, minds and body, it hates anyone that disagrees and will kill anyone that disagrees. I agree with Alan Shlemon from Stand to Reason with his most accurate statement on Islam. To paraphrase; Islam is hate and war hijacked by a minority of peaceful Muslims. ISIS will fight until something new and more powerful arrives. Islam will not stop because it has too much invested in its lie

No AlterNet, there will not be any compromise and not because Christians and Jews want war but because truth about God and Jesus are too important to put on a shelf for someone to knock it off and break it into a thousand pieces unrecognizable faith.

THE BLEAK OUTLOOK OF NATURALISM

THE BLEAK OUT OF NATURALISM

game over

The atheist belief system gives no future to the next generation. Other than theories and unanswered questions of life and the universe it gives nothing back to society. The only good thing about theories and unanswered questions is these are great tools Christians along with the word of God to give hope to an unbelieving world.

This was my response or complements to a blog via Google Plus written last week “New Atheism Undead Arguments” on basically why the atheism concept is dying.

This is nothing new both Alister McGrath and John Lennox have been preaching this idea for some time now.

Atheism gives nothing to the future. The atheist may say no, naturalism gives a future; but at what cost.

Atheism idea of hope demands more environmental regulations, more laws that stifle the economy for again theories and questions that constantly are never answered. Atheism also shuts down debate of free religious ideas whether they be Christian or non Christian but it is quite obvious that Christianity is the target for this attack.

Atheist demand abortion for a world that they claim is over populated and children that are not wanted by anyone yet over hundred thousand children are eligible for adoption and over 19,000 newborns ready to be adopted just in the United States.

It’s no wonder communist love atheism they fit so well together. Communism loves to regulate legislate and confine people to its laws of its government ideas; much like atheism demands that society think and do only their way.(I’m sure they will refute that statement)

Atheistic belief is a bleak one, it offers no forgiveness and little or no redemption so much so few people will fully invest themselves into true atheism, this is why we see the splitting of this faith into denominations like humanism (and its many factions) and secularism but even with these denominations there still is a bleak outlook in that world of naturalism.

THE 4 DENOMINATIONS OF ATHEISM 2ND DENOMINATION

THE 4 DENOMINATIONS OF ATHEISM: 2ND DENOMINATION

Atheist_2

This is the second in a series of four defining the four denominations of atheism, last week I went over the 1st denomination the non acting or detached atheist, this blog goes over the 2nd denomination, how they view and live in their doctrine known as Atheism

The 2nd denomination is what I call the Reaching out or Seeking Atheist. They view their atheism more like humanism without this view they would have a meaningless belief.

They can have migration from the 1st denomination but more often not. Normally the children of the 1st denomination will seek the 2nd denomination because of lack of a foundation of belief that the 1st denomination did not give. The 3rd denomination will too sometimes migrate to the second and mainly again looking for something that they have not found in the core atheism belief or sometimes just to distance themselves from the underling ideology of the 3rd denomination.

The 2nd denomination again knows there is a God but rebukes God in the name of man hoping someday humans will evolve into a god of its own. They are humanist in nature much like the vision Gene Rodenberry the creator of the Star Trek franchise. Man does not need a God he can evolve in such a way he will either become a little god or have no need for any God.

Most of these 2nd denominational atheist are liberal in nature and don’t view their country to be the great savor of the world but view the multiculturalism evolutionary thought to be the savor of the world or worlds.

Their liberal ideology allows them to disregard God, moral law and natural law thus allowing them a lifestyle that cannot be in judgment. Since there is no God then everyone can make their own moral ideas, ethics are your own ethics its all relative and no one dare judge because after all why are your moral ides and ethics more important than mine.

The 2nd atheist see’s religion as a weakness or hindrance to progress. The view a person is better off believing in themselves than God because the belief in God requires self sacrifice, obeying, faith, trust and accountability in something that sometimes cannot be seen or touched.

The 2nd or seeking atheist feels faith and trust have to be something that is seen or touched but disregards the hypocrisy of theory’s such as evolution and the big bang.

Science is not always their first belief but man himself can be the god of this atheist. This 2nd denomination takes people down the wrong path, a path of disobedience from the God of the Bible, most feel a belief in God is bondage and with no God is freedom.

They try and take faith and trust of God away and convince you that you are your only way contrary to what Jesus said in John 14:6.

The path is full of non judgmental immorality and relativism, creating rules that fit your life and if you disagree of my rules you certainly cannot judge or condemn regardless of who it hurts and how it affects the society.

When dealing with the 2nd denominational atheist know that many are not grounded in their doctrine and make a hodge podge of believe out of humanism, secularism and new age philosophy. This is the main reason why the 4th denomination atheist hates or despises the 2nd or seeking atheist. The pure atheist labels them as secular Christians and they would be correct on this label.

The idea of moral and ethics and right and wrong have to come from somewhere, the 2nd or seeking atheist would like us to believe it evolved but knows it could not have evolved because they cannot explain conscience and why no other creature has had this evolutionary process as well.

The 2nd denomination atheist requires one to know not only the atheist doctrine but humanism, and the secularist ideas as well in order to witness. These atheists again sometimes have many ideas of why they won’t seek the God of the Bible as the one true God.

They are not to be feared but to have patients with. Cutting through their liberal ideology can be the first obstacle, there are a few conservative seekers but most are just economically conservative not socially conservative.

Prayer, patients and friendship is the up most important. Be clear on what you believe and be clear on what God states morally and ethically do not waiver on these issues otherwise you risk getting accused of being hypocritical something the second atheist is well aware and most likely deals with being a part of this doctrine.

A QUESTION TO THE ATHEIST…..WHY?

A question to the atheist…….why?

Why attack religion and why don’t you spread the love when you do. For the past year there has been a law suites by atheist groups on nativity scenes, atheist group gets a Army Chaplin punished for sharing his faith and much more just type it in to your favorite search engine and enjoy and my question is why. Where were you the when they build the mosque on ground zero if you against religion.

Why do you care, seems to me if you really don’t believe in a God why do you spend so much time and money fighting something you don’t believe is real.

atheist

Another question why are you trying to break up the family, the above billboard has an oxymoron statement of a little girl writing to a fairy tale asking to skip church. For the most part families go to church. It’s normally a decision by both mother and father to take the kids to church.

For some it’s to learn and for others it’s to worship regardless it’s a family and even if it was not a family and only a parent taking his or her child to church the atheist community is telling children to just say no. Do not honor your parents’ wishes and say no.

atheist2

The above billboard appears near where I live and if you really think about it this guy is right to saying question everything. But be honest everyone worships something; don’t think that anyone is free from that. You may not bow down to your money or to your addiction but everybody worships something.

Yes question everything, no real Christian can honestly say they walked in total blindness. God does not tell us not to ask questions he just asks us to believe in him. If the Christian faith was not filled with questions then we wouldn’t have the doctrines we have now.

Some feel baptism is important, some feel worshiping on the Saturday is important, speaking in tongues but what binds us together is one thing, the way to salvation.

We live in a free country thus far; the freedom allows us to worship and to belong to a religion like atheism, Islam, Christianity. Much of the free world allows worshiping your chosen God. So why are you the atheist demanding we take God out of a free society that condones God?

Countries that refuse to condone God are pretty much communist. God is not tolerated in China, North Korea does not allow God be worshiped or taught. Cuba and the former Soviet did not allow God why do want to convert a free country to communism.

I get you hate the idea of a God but don’t hate the people that believe, don’t hate a concept that has allows freedom.

You may think your humanism is freedom but it’s not, you’re bound to nothing and constantly looking for something that cannot be found. Don’t take that away from those who have found peace and don’t try and change a freedom that is founded on a Godly belief, why would you do that?
