THE GIFT

img_1190

BREAKING DOWN THE VERSE1

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Let us explore the verse Romans 6:23

First let us break down this verse to fully get the gist. For the wages of sin is death what exactly is St. Paul through the Holy Spirit conveying to us.

Wages are what we earn from what we labor or to put it plainly I get what I work for or deserve.

As humans we are fallible, we make mistakes, we do wrong, we sin daily that is our labor and it is daily. We are born into sin we are sin and our wage what we earn for that sin is death.

God measures equates this sin as death, from day one when humanity disobeyed God Adam and Eve earned death and such that labor and wage was passed on to us and we can do nothing to earn more or less to reverse this wage because we fail to obey God daily.

Now that I have depressed everyone let us continue on with the rest of the verse.

But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus or Lord. Here St. Paul points out that eternal life (something we can never qualify or earn) is given to us for free. We cannot afford this gift, we can never work hard enough or do enough to have eternal life because that requires a sinless life.

The gift is free thus the word (Grace) only through Jesus or Lord, nothing else on earth or in us can equal what Jesus has done for us. Romans 3:20-24 ( For by works of the law no human being[a] will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus)

What does this mean for you and me in this day and time especially in a world that wraps itself in relative notions of what only applies to myself.

St. Paul through the inspired word of the Holy Spirit and I say this so you know this is not just opinions written by a mere man but by a man inspired by the words of God. Paul is saying only Jesus can give you eternal life, only Jesus can justify this grace and that is what we can apply to our lives; only through Jesus alone can we can be saved. It is the Holy Spirit that draws us near to Christ (Jesus) and it is only through him alone that we can know and receive this Grace his free gift.

Now a note from our commentary deters us from thinking that a free gift of Grace given to a person who is a sinner that does not deserve salvation is not a free pass to continue to sin.

A truly saved individual loathes sin and desires to obey God and to follow his commandments. By no means is the doctrine of Grace a reason to continue to sin in small ways or big ways 1 John 3:9 (No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.).

Repentance is always needed, we will always sin but that does not give us the justification to sweep sin aside knowing that God will give us a pass Romans 6:12-13 (Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. 13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.).

Final thoughts we should never forget who we are (sinners) even though God has saved through his son Jesus we should not forget we did not nothing to earn this salvation, it was a debt paid, it was Jesus taking our place in death so we would not have to. Our bodies will someday end but our soul is forever and forever we will be with our Lord Jesus.

CHRISTIANITY AND AMERICA

12

If we accept the notion that America should not be or is not a Christian national we fail to see the consequences that could have been and will be.
The founding framers attempted to design the constitution with the adaptation of natural law. They were of course a few ticks off but still maintained the importance of the need of The God of the Bible essence to be an integral part of the framework.

A strong percentage of our framers belonged to one church denomination or another, whether they were truly saved is not ours to judge but we have to know this affiliation to a Judeo-Christian church had to influence their judgment when creating a country such as America.
If we take Christianity away then we need only to take away some of our founding fathers like George Washington wondering would we have won the revolution without him and his Christian influence. Would a country full of atheist, Islamism, Buddhist and Hindus could have challenged the crown.

Would we still have a two party political system with the democrats and the Wigs parties? One could argue there would be no need for a man like Abraham Lincoln and how long would America continue slavery without the objection of the Christians.

In 1821 Benjamin Lunday, a Quaker from Ohio, started an anti-slavery newspaper “The Genius of Universal Emancipation.” 1830: The Plantation Mission Movement began. Methodist chapels were constructed on many plantations. 1959 John Brown raid on Haper’s ferry are just a few of the many Christian movements that combated slavery in America.

Christian missionaries moved in to helping the Native Americans, Christianizing many tribes over the years one notable being the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

As America became more prosperous missionary work flourished, one can easily criticize America’s greed but one cannot take away from prosperous people that gave and continue to give for and to missionaries to help the poor and disadvantaged in this country and abroad with privet contributions.

Much of our colleges we have today started out as Christian based education, Harvard, Yale, Princeton to name a few.

Civil rights movement of the 1960’s was heavily Christian with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King and seminary students like John Lewis

We can argue and debate on this issue but it’s fairly easy to see the Christian influences in this country are huge. Can we say we are not a Christian nation well I guess one can make the case but we have to say we are a nation of Christian’s and a nation that has been impacted by Christianity. Can you make a case that our government should be secular, yes you can but we must then demand or statesmen and women to be Godly?

Our government functionality should be unbiased to everyone but the people that fill those positions in government should be Godly good statesmen.

If we have bad statesmen then we have bad government, ungodly statesmen ungodly government. In past it was important that anyone serving the public have some ties to a Judeo-Christian believing church of some kind. You can argue this is not fair for a county that embraces all religions all faiths but I’m not sure your argument would be valid.

Go back to the founding framers and their original intentions of natural law, this requires a statesman to know and understand moral law to govern. Can men and women of other faith know and understand good and bad and how morality plays out in a society; to an extent they can but they will fail to grasp why and who set these laws in motion thus the slow migration from a good and moral set of rules to a mixture of moral relativism.

I suspect the last few sentences will enrage some people, we can say America was not intended to be a Christian only nation but we have to admit it is a nation of Christians that have impacted society and helped design country based on a rule and law held on a notion of a creator and one God. A country based on a God with a moral law to protect and govern all that live in this great nation.

THE LEFT AND POPE FRANCIS’S CONUNDRUM

pope francis

The national Review released a nice article more or less better defining Pope Francis’s stance on climate change and economical equality leaving the Leftist environmental, economic extremist and the Pope in somewhat of a conundrum if you ask me.

Pope Frances further defines his belief in what it means to embrace climate change and economic justice in which one comes to the conclusion that Pope Francis feels they are connect, it’s a good size article that needs to be read so I urge you to do so.  The Pope’s Encyclical, at Heart, Is About Us, Not Trees and Snail Darters

Pope Francis over the last few years had made statements that have been surly noted as communist in notion, climate change is the new communism if you don’t feel that way look at the old communism or in that fact both China, North Korea and Vietnam and see the defining attributes they have in common with climate change. Note that climate change is nothing new to the Left, when the Berlin wall fell western communism just found a new place to hide.

Economic Equality has been a topic as well by Francis, from the National Catholic Reporter Carol Glatz reports that the Popes idea of faith and giving go hand in hand something we would all like to see people like Joel Osteen and TD Jakes read and practice.

The issue with this concept is it does not fully understand or fix the poor just that we need to become poor to have faith. I’m always quick to go back on Matthew chapter 26 verse 11.

Now Jesus was explaining more than just the poor to his disciples but it does tells us an undeniable truth, that we will never rid the poor nor the sick they will always be with us. No giving until it hurts will change that, we are not to hoard our money but I don’t think Jesus expects us to go broke trying to fix something that cannot be fixed.

This lays the conundrum for both the Pope and the Left; how fare will they take each other before they are forced to abandon each another on difference of ideology and yes their ideology splits.

Now mind you this is just opinion and conviction from Pope Francis, whether he sees it or not he is embracing communism with his economic and environmental ideology. In my opinion the Pope does see it but wants to change the concept of socialism to his brand or what I would say the true brand of socialism.

Socialism was tried once and it failed when Adam and Eve sinned and God threw them out of the garden. After that socialism has tried and tried as it might, it has even employed the government aka communism and that still has not worked and will never work because of mans inherent will to sin.

I get what Pope Francis is wanting, he and I would make great neighbors but no way in heaven would I vote for him to office.

The conundrum that Pope Francis faces is that yes the Left is all for this, they love what Francis is preaching until he said that being economically equal and environmentally conscious means we must be Pro Life and not with just newborns but with everyone one and thing on this earth and that is where the ideology splits

This is a must and the Pope knows this and has to push this otherwise he loses his Christian credibility. Equality means everyone, young and old regardless of how weak or strong, ignorant or inelegant we must have Pro Life otherwise all this is a lie.

The conundrum for the Left is they know this is a lie and they themselves don’t necessarily live this lie. Don’t get me wrong there are a few uneducated leftist hippies out there that attempt it but few will live it to the end. The educated Left truly does not have equality in mind just power and ignorance and Pro Life cannot be a part of this social experiment.

To the Left Pro Life cannot gel with communism because if makes not only the individual but a government accountable for their misgivings. Yes the government could mandate no abortion, it is not an option, make it illegal and it will care for the unwanted child and the elderly but that opens up a can of who will pay for this and again accountability becomes in play, judgment, sin there is no irrelevance in a world that embraces life.

I believe the Pope would say we the people and the churches of the people will take care of these children and take care of the elderly that have served our society something that use to be and has been lost with an ever intrusive government. So one can see if we allow the government to take care or enforce private organizations to do their bidding the society looses freedom and free will.

The Pope’s communism demands that not only people be accountable but the government is as well and that won’t happen because again we are inherently evil and seek the best way out not God’s way in which is always best but is only from a free will based on a freedom he gives us not the government.

Yes while the Popes communism seems like a wonderful utopia where everybody loves everything it is not only impossible but it no longer allows for freedom and free will. A government cannot enforce free will and freedom it can only protect it.

Again socialism in the Garden of Eden would have worked if sin was not committed, there would be no need for communism because people would be responsible themselves and not seek to cause their neighbor to stumble. Government would have never been in need because with no sin people will not seek to kill, steal and destroy.

Pope Francis’s utopia requires communism because he knows the heart of man, and government is needed to police that heart. Where he fails is his understanding mans inherent nature and he forgets the heart of man. He forgets its man that is the government that will police the heart and actions of man; see the problem it just spins leaving a devastation of corruption, payoffs, crony capitalism, and abuse of power.

The conundrum is this, will Pope Francis’s remarks on Pro Life turn off the Leftist that is needed to enact this communism he dreams of. Will the Left leave the Pope because his communism is not their communism?

Regardless of his social and political clout I believe the Left will sneakingly distance themselves from Pope Francis because of this one disagreement being too great to sacrifice their ideology of relativism.

This is a dangerous path for Pope Francis to travel on, time will only tell if the snares of liberalism will be too much for society to handle even Pope Francis.

THOUGHTS OF THE DAY: 3

IS TOLERANCE DISRESPECTFUL

got tolerance 2

Last week I asked the question “Is tolerance disrespectful” and I got a few answers that are not fully direct like I thought they would be. My friend Bryan from So Cal said “tolerance was disrespectful only for yourself” and there is a lot of truth to that. Another FB friend Brenda said “If you do it on a daily basis for the same thing then yes you are being disrespectful“.

Now mind you the general idea of tolerance in the minds of Hollywood and the Left, tolerance is good and it’s what will save humanity from itself. Tolerance lets us get a long in spite of our differences.

I have to be honest I really never gave it a thought to what tolerance stood for, I probably felt you were being kind or compromising by tolerating a person, act or a situation. It was not until I was listening to Michael Ramsden an apologetics and evangelist that cleared it up for me.

Tolerance is disrespectful, Ramsden uses the west and it’s tolerance to Islam as an example. Islam sees the west as just tolerating its way of life, its religion and that does not sit well with Isamist.

Islam demands respect and when you tolerate them you are saying I don’t like you but you can still practice your religion and way of life but in reality I don’t care or respect you please don’t bother me.

Islam views this with great disrespect and it’s no wonder the west and Islam are at odds.

It’s a double edge sword no matter what decision the west makes they cannot win unless the west either quits extending its arms out to Islam or completely surrenders to Islam.

If they quit extending their arms out then they are at odds and war, if they surrender then the west is no longer the west and everything from technology to our religion changes.

Now it’s a tat bit different on a personal level, the loss of respect comes to you the tolerator over the tolerated.

We really don’t care for the person, situation, or whatever act is being done but we allow it or just don’t say anything because we are tolerating to keep the peace. I’m not disrespecting you to your face but you are to my face but I’ll deal with it to keep the peace.

If we are tolerating the person, situation or act that we feel is not satisfactory with what we believe in, in a way by not telling the truth we are disrespecting ourselves and our way of life. Do we do this as a one time thing out of respect or do it until it becomes a compromise?

Do we do tolerate to keep the peace or just be friendly, some would say never stop but do we keep tolerating even when the offensive destroys a way of morality and since the worlds definition of morality is so relative I will define morality as Biblical morality.

Should we be full on truthful and tell that someone or the situation we just don’t like it, them or what they do. Like my friend Brenda that said if you do it all the time you are being disrespectful and I agree but are you being more disrespectful to yourself than the person or thing you are tolerating?

Now I’m not saying we should be rude to everyone that we don’t agree with let me be clear, that is being disrespectful. With that said there are things that will affect us, or families and our way of life that cannot be compromised and if we keep on tolerating or compromising on these things and issues then you can expect to lose them in the name of tolerance.

When should truth take the stand, do we tolerate a crying baby in a movie theater and just wait the crying out to spare feelings?

Do we tolerate hate speech in the name of free speech, do we tolerate decisions made based on lifestyle in the name of personal freedom or do we tolerate and disrespect ourselves in the name of getting along. And if we do tolerate in the name of getting along do we have a limit on how much we tolerate or is it a given we tolerate everything no matter what we compromise.

When should truth take the stand, when your sense of morality is being broken in the name of freedom to do as I please?

Do we speak up when our rights are being questioned or taken away on the basis of fairness?

Do we speak up and tell the truth when we see our families forced to relearn or be a part of something that is morally objectionable to our way of life our moral upbringing or do we stay silent and disrespect ourselves so as our names and lives are not drag down in the mud of disrespectfulness to the offender.

If we are to believe tolerance is actually a good thing then we have to expect both sides to practice this good thing fairly.

If tolerance is a part of fairness and getting along then people that expect their way of life to be respected also need to respect the rest of society’s way of life and that includes the right to be for or against that way of life.

If we toss away morality, we toss away the Bible, God, and mans sinful nature for tolerance then we either practice fairness across the board or we prepare for all out war.

Either way if you stand for Biblical morality the Decalogue and not stand for tolerance and moral compromise then you can still expect all out war.

At the top I gave the liberal definition to tolerance and the way I see it that is not tolerance, what they define as tolerance is what I would call truth and respect of a difference of opinion or way of life.

The reason why they define it as tolerance,  Leftist do not believe in truth they find that disrespectful.

WHO IS SAINT PATRICK?

patrick_shamrock_0

Do you know why you are celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day March 17th and do you know who St. Patrick is or is this just a day to dress green and party. I for one knew of the man St. Patrick but had no clue about who he was and what he stood for. I never celebrated the day unless I was forced to in school other than that March 17th was just another day hoping nobody would notice I had no green on.

When I got married my wife had an ambition to visit Ireland and in 2014 we were able to make that goal happen and we took a tour on the Emerald Island. The traveler that I am had me investigate were we would be touring and since we would be spending three days in Dublin it was a must to visit St. Patrick’s cathedral. We were able to visit the church that was built around 1191, very a inspiring to say the least but I still did not understand who St. Patrick was.

Inside Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin
Inside Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin

It was not until our Irish tour started that our tour guide started telling the story and then I understood why this man was elevated to Sainthood. Later I started to think and I understood why I would celebrate this man but do people in general really understand why they are celebrating him.

Some history of St. Patrick: Born in 378 AD Maewyn Succat from Roman parents in Roman occupied Brittan. Born of nobility Maewyn changed his name to Patrick after becoming a priest.

At age 15 Patrick was kidnapped by pirates and sold into slavery in Ireland. Patrick was enslaved as a Sheppard for 6 years. Although Patrick was raised in a Christian home his grandfather being a Catholic priest Patrick later said he was not a believer. Prior to being kidnapped he said he was selfish and wanted nothing to do with worshiping God.

During his 6 years of slavery Patrick started to find God, he often practiced fasting to get closer to God. Then Patrick started having dreams of God talking to him. In his 6th year of slavery Patrick said God told him in a dream to escape, at first he thought it was nothing more than a dream but the next night God told him again to escape.

Patrick states he escaped and walked 180 miles to the Irish east coast to find a ship that could take him back home. He states God not only found him a boat but the ship’s captain who for sure had to suspect Patrick was fugitive did not turn him in even though the captain had much to gain to do so.

Even when Patrick’s ship landed in Britain they had to take the cargo in to town by foot. After two days of walking they began to get hungry and scoffed at Patrick saying will not your God find us food. The next day Patrick and the crew ran into wild pigs and food was now available so much so by the time they ran out again they had reach the town.

Patrick was now 21 years of age and instead of staying home where he would have certainly been able to take over the family farm and business decided to go to seminary school to become a pastor.

After becoming a priest Patrick went back to Ireland and started to missionary the same people that bought him into slavery. He converted the pagan druids and Christianized Ireland as we know it.

Now most of us know that St. Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland and folklore has him driving out all the snakes of Ireland but that is no folklore Patrick did drive out the snakes of Ireland.

In Ireland besides birds of prey there are no predators, no wolfs, bears, cats or snakes so what do I mean by Patrick driving out the snakes of Ireland. The pagan druids worshiped many gods and their symbol of their worshiping was of snakes. When Patrick converted the pagans to Christianity he drove out the snakes.

So why do we celebrate and how do we celebrate St. Patrick, understanding what Patrick did its easy for me an American to see why Ireland, Britain and the Catholic church to want and celebrate the achievements of such a great man but if you are not Catholic, Irish, or of the UK why do you celebrate. Is it out of respect for what Patrick did, he forgave the people of Ireland, the pirates that sold him and offered them a chance through God’s grace to receive salvation.

Do you celebrate St. Patrick because it’s a day to drink green beer maybe get drunk and loaded because a lot of other people are doing it.

First understand what St. Patrick was up against when he returned to Ireland to preach the Gospel. Druids were into slavery, human sacrifice, witchcraft, sexuality deviated from the normal and worshipped more than one God pretty much opposite of what St. Patrick and the Gospel stood for. God gave Patrick the ability to learn the language, and then teach and convert the pagans with simple things like teaching the trinity of God by using the three leaf clover.

What I’m getting at is to celebrate a day that remembers a man like Patrick and to celebrate it by doing the opposite of what Saint Patrick stood for is disrespectful.

Today’s St. Patrick day parades are nothing what Patrick could envisioned I suspect. I wonder what Patrick would think of today if he saw some of the parades that are supposed to be honoring his achievements.

st1  st2

I’m not saying one should not celebrate St. Patrick’s Day March 17th  if you are not a believer but maybe one might really take the time to know the man and what he stood for to heart.

Maybe have some respect for a man that forgave his captors and gave them a chance to know who the God of the Bible was and the grace that God gives no matter who and what they did.

If you are going to celebrate a man then know who that man is and what he has done. Please do not disrespect St. Patrick by careless disregard of what he stood for. Take the day to remember the man and what God did through him.

END OF THE WEEK BEGINNING OF THE YEAR 2015

END OF THE WEEK BEGINNING OF THE YEAR THE LOW DOWN DIRTY SHAME OF IT ALL

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Well it’s the end of the week but the beginning of a new year; I don’t really feel like its a new year it’s still cold outside. 2014 in my view was pretty horrific with Ebola, ISIS, border issues, atheist issues and gay agenda issues. So many issues to shake a stick at so what one impacted you or did any.

To me all these issues just made me mistrust our state and federal government that much more. You wonder how much misinformation is being thrown out at us just to either keep us quiet or in line. To me the two agendas that made the biggest impression were the ISIS and the gay propaganda agenda.

ISIS is bad news but we could have should have stopped them years ago. The fact our president seems to delight in their existence does bother me greatly.

ISIS seems to help Obama in a few ways; it makes him look good when we kill a some of them. But I believe Obama enjoys radical Islam because he is radical progressive and although the two differ on social issues they love each other on religious and political issues.

The propaganda that the extreme homosexual agenda is setting out for society is also a big concern for me. I say extreme because there are some out there that just are lost and want to find peace and well and I dare say they are not gay but completely confused on what direction to take so they take the easy yet most painful way to deal with their hurt.

The big reason why I am very concern and watching this issue closely is how it impacts our society. Television and mass media is bent on trying to cram this down your throat so you think it’s normal but please do not fall for this there is nothing normal about it.

Homosexuality does nothing for a pro God, pro marriage, and pro family society. It is sterile concept that leads to nowhere in both the relationship and in the individual. What is more concerning is when pro gay heterosexual’s look at you as if you’re either stupid or mean for not allowing the gay concept to flourish. This kind of mentality will only confuse the follower of such a such an agenda and thus our society becomes more confused and more demented.

As in my last blog I ask everyone to please make 2015 your year of prayer, take one minute out of your day and pray for America and pray for those who will be working to give truth back to America.

2015 is the beginning, so much time for us to impact our world. Whether it’s your home, work, church or family ask God to help you make an impact I know I will.

AMERICA IS NOT THE GREATEST BUT COMPARED TO WHAT?

AMERICA IS NOT THE GREATEST COUNTY BUT COMPARED TO WHAT?

image

I think a lot of people have seen this clip from the HBO TV series “Newsroom”, when it came out it hit social media like a wildfire I must of saw it posted on Facebook at least 5 times each time getting a seal of approval from the average American. The thought was finally somebody in the media has made a stink on how our country has fallen, we are not the greatest country in the world but I ask compared to what are we not the greatest.

I personally think America fell from grace in 1973 when the Supreme Court legalized the killing of unborn children and all the states in the Union just sat back and allowed it.

The most defenseless of them all and now it’s open season to do what you want. But not everyone has turned their back on the unborn so I won’t speak in the terms of we because many of us don’t condone and do our best to refute this law.

Now with that said I then ask in compared to what is America not so great. Mind you for all those of you that think this was just a wonderful rant on the truth of where this country has gone remember this. HBO Time Warner is a very liberal progressive company that is very anti family, anti conservative and anti Christian. Remember HBO is the media outlet that gives Bill Maher his speaking platform to spread all his hateful lies so are you still glad HBO gave you a small little piece of happiness with this rant from the “Newsroom”.

Now mind you I’m not tearing into Jeff Denials he’s just an actor this is all Time Warner and Aaron Sorkin are the ones trying to fool people into thinking they know and understand Americans, well they don’t.

Denials character “Will” rants that freedom is enjoyed by lots of countries and yes in nature the concept of freedom is enjoyed but have you ever been to those counties. Most have a tax system that would blow your mind; the average tax rate in those countries is 60% while Americans enjoy an average 18%. Tax rate but I guess if you’re a progressive everyone is just a selfish to want to keep your own money.

“Will” goes on to spout about the high mortality rate of children in America. The infant mortality rate in the rant is backwards, yes we are 173 but that’s the number from worst to best worst being number 1 in which Afghanistan is the leader.

Also doctors in other countries look at premature birth deaths as medical waist, child death is not counted but overlooked because if a child is dies at birth or not in full term it does not count not so in America we count every statistic.

Next we get the whine about what America use to be and what it stood for, well in the 1950’s America was recovering from a depression and a world war. In the 50’s Americans finally got to reach what was known as the American dream of owning their own home about 50% owned a home.

In the 1960’s America began the journey to explore space and put a man on the moon. In the process it put a strain on communist relations and started the economic destruction of the Soviet Union.

moon land

In the 70’s America lost its battle to being the country of right when the Supreme Court allowed abortion but this did not mean the People that lived in America has lost grace completely this now meant we knew where to draw a battle line.

In the 1980’s we put the noose on the Soviet Union and by the 1990’s a defeated evil empire. In the 90’s we developed a mass communication for the world with the internet and in the millennium America was punched in the gut September 11 2001 but we rebounded and helped protect not only our country but those of the free world from terrorism and radical Islam.

Yes right now we are going through a rough patch but this is where Sorkin and HBO lack the intelligence of understanding the American. Denials character “Will” references to America by what is seen by mass media and not what is done by the individual.

“Will” rambles on saying “we built great things”, ever heard of the freedom towers, the internet is faster and more powerful than when it was invented, the Iphone has more power than lunar space capsules did in the 1960’s. We found a cure for Ebola when we needed it the most. Groups like Samaritan’s Purse are feeding the hungry and caring for the sick worldwide and its individuals that help Groups like Samaritan Purse to succeed.

You see HBO and Sorkin has “Will” only seeing the country and not seeing the content of the country. They don’t see the individual and the daily sacrifices he and she go through. They don’t see the charity and triumphs the individual makes in his and hers life they only see what is reported and have no concept of what the American is and does.

No America is not the greatest nation it once was but I ask you what are the greatest nations, the 180 that have freedom, China, Cuba are they the greatest. What country does not strive to be like America and what country is beating people down at their borders, Spain, Holland what country Aaron Sorkin and HBO?

PROGRESSIVE BLINDNESS

PROGRESSIVE BLINDNESS

Real Christianity vs. Whatever The Heck It Is Conservatives Actually Follow

The above blog popped up on one of the blogging forums I use on Facebook, it was posted by Christian Surf and written by Allen Clifton who I’m kind of thinking is not a Christian as defined by most born again Christians would define but I can’t judge his heart only God can

It’s a pretty negative blog attacking Conservative Christians mainly Conservatives in general, I read through it and thought I would rebuttal as a conservative Christians since he’s calling me out I’ll answer his call.

The first thing is he labels all conservatives republicans and defines them as being in a cult but that simply is not true. Conservatives just can’t vote for democrats, the Democratic Party is way too progressive right now and is just too much like communism to me.

Believe me not all conservatives are republicans it’s just that’s all we can vote for, no conservative is thrilled with theses deadbeat rinos that come up for election but we either vote for them and try and change policy with a moderate republican or don’t vote and deal with deadbeat democrats and their socialism you can’t win either way.

Some conservatives will refuse to vote for moderate republicans no matter what is on the line they have too much conviction to compromise with socialism.

The next issue was abortion, as a Christian Mr. Clifton is against abortion and thinks it’s wrong and that’s really good to hear, it kind of leaves a emptiness in your soul when you meet a person that states they are a believer but thinks killing an unborn child is fine.

Clifton feels if somebody wants or has an abortion well that’s none of his business and frankly it’s nobody else’s business.

This is where I disagree and think why most level headed Christians have the view of “we cannot condone a society that kills its unborn”.

It should be all our concerns that we have legalized the murder of unborn children; it’s too convenient to just dismiss something that is wrong just because you’re told it’s none of your business.

My question to the Christian that views abortion is nobody’s business but the person having it is how do justify this if you know it’s wrong.

Would you stand by and knowingly let a person be murdered, would you be more concerned if your state government decided to legalize the killing of adults that stayed on government assistance for more than say 8 years and now is a burden on society.

What makes the abortion ok because it’s none of your business, because the child is not yet born, it can’t communicate or do complex rational thought so it’s not really a living person.

When does it not be okay, when the unborn child is 2 month in the womb, 3 months, 5, 8 when is it not okay to kill the unborn.

Guns, Mr. Clifton does not like people with guns well I own a few guns and I own them for protection. If somebody is breaking into my house I have an obligation to protect my family and I guarantee the police will not get to my house before the bad guy has done his bad deed.

Christians also believe in the 2nd amendment and the constitution that gives them freedom to bear arms.

The reason why our founding father constructed the 2nd amendment was not to just protect from home invasion of some random thug but to give the American citizen the ability to protect themselves from tyrannical power of a government and from the average thug that would threaten your personal property.

No Christian wants to use a gun but its there if we need it because some brilliant men thought it should be your right to protect yourself.

The next is Homosexuality, yes I’m opposed to the gay lifestyle on a few levels one being it’s against what the Bible teaches us as a matter of fact the inspired word of God (the Bible) discusses this at least twice first being Leviticus 18:22 and again the New Testament in Romans 1: 26-27. Mind you this verse is not condoning the act of homosexuality.

I don’t think God is just picking on the homosexual there is more here than just two of the same sexes trying to act like a heterosexual couples. Homosexuality if practiced is unsafe, unhealthy and brings risk not to mention it’s has no design to reproduce itself.

As a conservative I oppose homosexuality because the lifestyle is destructive and anti family. Today’s gay life is in your face “you must accept me and my life choices or else you’re a homophobe or a bigot” this is a sexually based sin that has embraced the politically correctness for safety.

It refuses to acknowledge its hurting and is based in a lie, becomes unstable for a society that tries to be the truth right for all that live in it.

I personally have had dealings with homosexuality in my own family and I have first hand seen the destructive behavior it has brought to not only my family but other families that it has involved with.

It’s morally wrong and biblically wrong, God does care when people hurt other people and hurt themselves it does matter to him.

Next is giving to charity and why go into this I’m at a loss, Clifton said he gives the conservative the nod on giving to charity but states why should we since their church tells them to give tithes anyhow.

Not all conservatives are Christian so can’t expect all to tithe to their church. Churches do not command that we tithe to them. I would say if you go to a church that expects you to give tithing then you should leave.

What the inspired word of God does say is this in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7  I believe most healthy Christians practice this in give based on its the right thing to do we do it out of our heart not because a church tells us to.

He goes on and pulls the greed card on conservatives that we all just want to be rich and hoard the money.

Yes we want a free market and yes capitalism is the best way to do business in a free market but you’re talking about capital cronyism not true free market capitalism where the government lets society earn their own money by working hard and helping those that cannot help themselves. The opposite of all this is communism and I’m not for that.

Right now both our state and federal governments punish you for succeeding in life by taxing you. They use those taxes wastefully if anyone should get a lecture on greed and selfishness it’s our government.

Clifton states that different denomination interprets the bible very differently and I do not agree on that. Most Judeo Christian denominations that are healthy in the word of God see God’s word all the same.

They may have different doctrines and put emphases on some biblical practices over the other but most view God’s word the same. What Clifton is talking about is religions and born again Christians don’t belong to a religion they belong to a relationship with God.

Clifton then ask what makes a person a Christian, is it going to church, reading the bible. Clifton believes that being a Christian comes down to who you are as a person and how closely you try and live your life with the beliefs of Jesus Christ and that is a pretty good answer except if the thief on the cross had followed that definition he would have gone to hell.

Salvation is what makes you a Christian, John chapter 3 verse 16 sums up what it takes to be a Christian and belong to Jesus Christ.

It is why an Atheist is not a Christian, it’s why a Muslim is not a Christian and why a ton of people that go through life thinking all I have to be is good and I’ll get to heaven are wrong Matthew chapter 7 verses 21-23

At the end Clifton just bashes conservative Christians for enjoying guns, practicing greed selfishness and hate. My question for Clifton that feels progressives and leftist  are more compassionate…where is the compassion?

A DISILLUSIONED CREED

jesus2

I don’t have children but I once was a child and I thank God every day that my mother and father took the time to  teach my brother and I who and what God is. That old idea of “I’ll let my kids decide for themselves if they want to go to church or learn about God is.” is a mistake and in my opinion parents that have this belief already have learned a notion that either they don’t find God important or they don’t want there child to know who God is regardless it’s a shame.

Professor J. Budziszewski from the University of Texas in Austin points out eight articles of a creed that is being taught by declining to educate ones child of who and what God is in his book “What we can’t not know”. The books main content is based on natural law, the laws of nature that God has set up for us to know and follow, an excellent book worth reading whether if your into natural law and intellectual thought or not.

Budziszewsk points out parents teach their children a defined creed based on eight articles… “A good many parents decline to give their children any religious instruction, saying that they think it is better to “let them make up their own minds”. But declining to teach is itself a way of teaching, a very effective one, and it teaches children a very definite creed with eight articles:
(1) It is not important for children to know anything about God. (2) The questions that children naturally ask about Him require no answers. (3) Parents know nothing about Him worth passing on. (4) To think about Him adequately, no preparation is needed. (5) What adults think about Him makes no difference. (6) By implication, He does not make any difference either; God is not to be treated as God. (7) If anything is to be treated as God, it will have to be something other than He. (8) This is the true creed, and all other creeds are false.”

The shame of it all is children rely on their parents for guidance and moral education. It is not unusual for parents to be unequally yoked and divided on this issue even more reason why both parents should have a complete understanding of each other’s moral and ethical qualities they bring to a marriage or relationship.

In my opinion children under the age of accountability do not have the moral obligation to seek out God this should be the responsibility of the mother and father. J. Budziszewski articles of this creed is a symptom our from what our society is teaching. The lesson plan is defined as there is no one or personal God, no real moral absolute, and a vague personal ethic.

You can find more valuable information reading J. Budziszewski book “What We Can’t Not Know” its our responsibility to teach our kids about who and what is God, it is reckless not to.

SIT DOWN FOR THE HOLIDAYS WITH GOD AND COUNTRY

GOD AND COUNTRY

family fight

It’s coming, the holidays are coming soon; only a few weeks till Thanksgiving and then one month to Christmas. Some look forward and some look away with “let’s just get this over with” which one are you. For those of you looking forward to the holidays but not looking to sitting down with family that does not respect or appreciate your views on life I get it. I use to every once in awhile have to sit down with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins that view everything I held dear as complete nonsense or idiotic so I get it.

Something we kind of grin and bear it knowing somebody is going to bring up politics or religion, everyone knows you don’t talk about politics or religion at family functions but they do anyways. I started thinking of this based again off listening to a segment of the Glen Beck radio show, Beck in my mind is on the cutting edge of politics both conservative and progressive but not so much when it comes to religion and so so when you mix the two. He was making a remark the other day on how talking about religion and politics can foul a mood and damping a room and I completely agree with that especially when it comes to distant or odd family members that just don’t quite get it.

So what do you do or what do you and your spouse do when the company comes over or you’re invited to come to their house or maybe a neutral house but you know that one or two family members or friend of family will be there and will most certainly want to look for a debate. Do you just like I stated before just grin and bear it or if you get into the discussion try and deflect it and start another conversation say like sports. You can do that but I can pretty much guarantee that will not stop the conversation, you can choose not to participate but the discussion will happen with or without you.

If you’re like me you hate to see your believes trampled or scoffed at like it some terrible idea or disease. If you’re like me you can’t stand to see somebody just tell lies and misrepresent everything you believe in and in the name of just getting along you say nothing. You know how discussing politics and religion can get real messy, its two ideas that can be real vague and easy to convolute.

. Christianity can be measured by hot, warm or cold and politics can be defined by many words like dishonesty, blatant lie, republican, democrat, conservative or progressive and one hundred degrees in the middle so is it worth getting into is it worth it at all heck January will be here in one and a half months. You can sit on the sidelines and wait for it to be over and everyone goes home with nothing ever changed or you can defend your life and maybe just maybe something will stick in that family member’s brain and maybe they will think.

How do I do this how do I defend what I steak my life on, how can I speak truth without muddying up water. How do I get my point across on religion and how do I convey my politics without loosing the purpose of what I believe in.

Instead of jumping in the conversation first know your limits and understand who you are and what you believe. Instead of politics and religion look at these two subjects as you really look at them, God and country and do not deviates from that idea of discussion only talk about God and country.

Religion can be very messy and confusing to discuss but talking about God The God of the Angle Army is not. Talking about Jesus is very simple, salvation is very simple and God’s natural law the law morality is based on is just that very simple follow the Ten Commandments Exodus 20 and the two commandments Jesus gave Matthew 22 34-40.

Politics can and will be gray but keep your talk on country, what politics is doing to this country. What men and women both in politics and on the sidelines are doing to this country. We know what progressives stand for and we know what conservatives stand for but it’s those pesky moderates or independents that call themselves non partisan and they’re the ones that come to the holiday dinner to try and pick a fight. They may call themselves independent or moderate but we know they are progressive they are just trying to muddy the waters of reason and that is why you do not discuss politics with these folks you talk about country.

Progressive want to pin your conservatism down to you being intolerant or cold hearted but if you keep the talk on country on how our country is suffering with progressive ideas then you open minds up to thought. Consider this progressives feel conservatives are intolerant but they refuse to look at both sides because they know one side is moral and the other is not, one side is based on ethics and the other is not, one side is was the basis of the country and the other is not.

This country is founded on the concept of The God of the Bible not Mohammad, not Hinduism and not paganism. Our country is founded on God and his liberty he gives us, the liberty that allows us to follow him or follow something else. Country is not meant to found a religion but a place to worship a God and live a way of life that has no man or woman be able to take that away including a government. God requires us to worship him, not other Gods because there are no other Gods before him.

God never asked us to take a country but only to worship him and tell others about him. Religion is not The God it’s what we make of our worship and our country is not our government it’s a place we have to live free and practice worshiping our God and we cannot let anyone whether they be foreign or domestic take that away from us. When we allow people whether through a government or a society to regulate a way of life based on feelings and tolerance and when we changed the rule of law based on the same we lose our God and Country.

So this holiday look forward to seeing the family and in-laws, let them talk about politics and religion but if you engage keep it simple like God keeps his love simple like our founding father kept it simple. God and County, it’s something our society is losing and we need to bring it back.
