THE GIFT

img_1190

BREAKING DOWN THE VERSE1

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Let us explore the verse Romans 6:23

First let us break down this verse to fully get the gist. For the wages of sin is death what exactly is St. Paul through the Holy Spirit conveying to us.

Wages are what we earn from what we labor or to put it plainly I get what I work for or deserve.

As humans we are fallible, we make mistakes, we do wrong, we sin daily that is our labor and it is daily. We are born into sin we are sin and our wage what we earn for that sin is death.

God measures equates this sin as death, from day one when humanity disobeyed God Adam and Eve earned death and such that labor and wage was passed on to us and we can do nothing to earn more or less to reverse this wage because we fail to obey God daily.

Now that I have depressed everyone let us continue on with the rest of the verse.

But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus or Lord. Here St. Paul points out that eternal life (something we can never qualify or earn) is given to us for free. We cannot afford this gift, we can never work hard enough or do enough to have eternal life because that requires a sinless life.

The gift is free thus the word (Grace) only through Jesus or Lord, nothing else on earth or in us can equal what Jesus has done for us. Romans 3:20-24 ( For by works of the law no human being[a] will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus)

What does this mean for you and me in this day and time especially in a world that wraps itself in relative notions of what only applies to myself.

St. Paul through the inspired word of the Holy Spirit and I say this so you know this is not just opinions written by a mere man but by a man inspired by the words of God. Paul is saying only Jesus can give you eternal life, only Jesus can justify this grace and that is what we can apply to our lives; only through Jesus alone can we can be saved. It is the Holy Spirit that draws us near to Christ (Jesus) and it is only through him alone that we can know and receive this Grace his free gift.

Now a note from our commentary deters us from thinking that a free gift of Grace given to a person who is a sinner that does not deserve salvation is not a free pass to continue to sin.

A truly saved individual loathes sin and desires to obey God and to follow his commandments. By no means is the doctrine of Grace a reason to continue to sin in small ways or big ways 1 John 3:9 (No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.).

Repentance is always needed, we will always sin but that does not give us the justification to sweep sin aside knowing that God will give us a pass Romans 6:12-13 (Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. 13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.).

Final thoughts we should never forget who we are (sinners) even though God has saved through his son Jesus we should not forget we did not nothing to earn this salvation, it was a debt paid, it was Jesus taking our place in death so we would not have to. Our bodies will someday end but our soul is forever and forever we will be with our Lord Jesus.

THE EASY WAY

31

Time to go to war with Islam or with those evil sects that Islam breads”, this is the easy way for people, heads of states and leaders of countries to say yet most never attempt.

It’s a complete symptom of when people and  countries that deny God in order to maintain that it is fair and just for everyone all the while allowing sects of religions and beliefs that has no real regard to humanity just its own to grow and live unassimilated and in contempt of lives and countries that all the while have taken them in, fed them and protected them.

The easy way out is “let’s go to war” but how many times has mankind done this. How may people have shed blood over and over to beat back evil but never confront and deal with evil.

Because if they confront one form of evil they will have to eventually confront another from, a form that is much closer to home. A form of evil they themselves have taken in, fed and protected all the while that evil has had no regard for them and their families and is in contempt of their lives, their states and their countries

The hard way that few, if any want to try will requires people to admit secularism, humanism and naturalism and all the idols of their personal lives have failed. The hard way is for people to say “it’s time we repent” and start converting them to follow Jesus.

Romans 14:11 or it is written,“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”

CAUTION BAD PEOPLE IN HELL

unnamed

It’s interesting to me how now doctrines and theology constantly debate on how bad or not so bad hell will be.
We have doctrine that uses a annihilation that those going to hell will just stop being, Satan will bear the sins and those who do believe in Christ; where that is scripture I have no clue.

I get it Hell is scary, I saw a blog from a fellow Christian blogger that wanted Christians to stop scaring the hell out of people, is that opposite of let us put hell in people nicely?

The meme that goes if you need the threat of eternal torture to be a good person you are not a good person has validity to it and I would agree humans are not good, it takes God to be good.

Realistically when was the last time you heard your pastor preach on hell, when was the last time you heard a megachurch pastor preach on hell. When was the last time you attended a Biblestudy that studied hell. I have rarely heard any pastor or church leader spend much time on the subject of hell but every liberal Christian seems to think it happens way too much and is afraid it will scare the unbeliever away.

Openbible.info counts about 100 references on hell in the ESV translation of the Holy Bible. So hell is in the scriptures it does exsist and it is a part of our lives whether we want it or not.

In Matthew Jesus talks or uses hell 17 times, and describes it 8 times as being a furnace of fire and weeping and gnashing of teeth, eternal torture.

So why are some churches and Christians afraid to talk about hell maybe the same reason they want people to stop judging and have some tolerance for sin.

Not sure about you but you but hell scares me strait, yes I sin daily but daily I repent. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Now I’m not saying that the message of hell should be the focal point of the Gospel. Salvation and Gods free gift of grace that he gives us is always the front and center subject to new believers but we ought not to leave hell out of the full message.

Understanding why God created hell and why he sent his son Jesus is important to know and understand. As a believer hell never inters my mind, getting closer to Jesus and trying to share that faith with others is always my intentions.

The unbeliever on the other hand knows there is a God, they might try and convince themselves there is no God but it is written on their hearts there is a God but even with that the heart can deny the mind. One wonders why Jesus talked about hell if it was not an important part of knowing God personally.

We can only conjecture why God created a hell but scriptures states it is real, Jesus talks about the realness of hell and the Holy Spirit continues to talk about it in the New Testament. Hell is real and I believe we are doing a disservice to our fellow man by just pushing it under the carpet like it was a bad dream.

WHO DO YOU FOLLOW?

martin luther

1 Corinthians 6:12 I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.

Whether we like it or not we humans follow something or somebody, we humans make a god out of something and we serve it.

I know if you’re an atheist, secularist or agnostic you will refute this claim but you would be lying to yourself.

The Christian tries to serve one god the God of the Bible but sometimes even the best intentions leads service to more than one master.

Hindi’s might serve or worship many Gods maybe even some gods that are not in the Hindu culture.

Atheist want to believe they serve no god, secularist hold on to this but it is not true we all serve someone or something otherwise your mind is dead to everything.

In general we all serve something, we all hold on to something whether we are proud of it or not we hold to something. Christian tell themselves God is my God but is he your only god?

Is fame what you seek, money, power, pleasure; these are gods to every person when they become the focal point of your life. As Christians we call this idolatry and what is an idol, it’s nothing more than a god to tide you over until you are fulfilled. Problem is these idols these gods won’t fulfill you they never have and never will. Acts 4:12; power and pleasure will not save you only Jesus can.

Christians that put God first in their lives will have a higher rate of personal success than putting other things or sharing God with other idols Proverbs 16:3 as a matter of truth we cannot share idols or God Matthew 6:24. We cannot serve two masters eventually we will throw away one and serve the other.

For the non believer who thinks God is for the weak minded you too serve something or somebody. How many are devoted to science and men like Hawkings, Dawkins or other persons of so called reason. How much time does pornography take your life, can you stay away from it from one day, two days, a week? Does money rule your house and your life, booze or drugs?

What about our toys and this goes for us all, motorcycles, cars, houses, how many of us obsess over these things so much they dictate where and what we do.

For the Christian sharing God won’t last but we can put our trust if we stand on Jesus to help us serve him and him alone. Proverbs 3:1-35 and 2 Timothy 2:15

For the Hindi or the Buddhist they care not that they follow more than one God, the Hindi expects it and the Buddhist might chalk it up to existence. Devout atheist want to deny any idea of a god is possible but one only needs to look how important idols are to the human. The human may not believe or except the idea of idolatry but that idea is irrelevant in reality especially if you believe you live in a world that is relative.

Who will you serve, people of power or influence (dictators, presidents, men of influence, rock starts celebrities) or pleasure (sex pornography, TV, maybe gambling) or will you reject them all and serve Jesus, the one that frees you from your idols. Galatians 3:22  But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe

FORGIVE ME

forgive me

In the wake of the Oregon shooting one can easily see the division between not only liberals and pro second amendment people but also between liberal Christians and Christians that believe in the constitution and the 2nd amendment freedoms.

I even read one blog where a liberal Christian blatantly refused to morn with Christians that believed in the right of gun ownership. Sad but true, I understand it in the secular world for such division to be held but it saddens me to see Christians divided amongst each other over such issues.

As a conservative Christian myself who believes in the private ownership of guns, knives, bats, gloves, helmets and any other recreational tools or forms of defense and a believer in the constitution that our founding famers wrote and went to war over. I want to offer this to my liberal Christian and non Christian country men as well my fellow conservatives. I want to ask you to forgive me.

What happened in Oregon is a tragedy but it won’t stop, no matter if you believe in conspiracies or just these things happen; this kind of behavior will continue to make news when we continue live in a world, country and state that worships death over Jesus.

Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you

I’m not asking you to forgive the shooter although that is a step we can take, I am asking we have patients on how each other feel on this issue.

Is your issue about a shooting by a man (whether he was atheist or had Islamic ties) that walked up and shot people (regardless if they where Christians or not) or is your issue on how can a person believe in gun ownership and still hold to the values of Jesus because those are two different issues based on the fact shootings happen along with knifings and choking the live out of somebody. What is your issue and can you work though it enough to forgive your neighbor and yourself.

Christian in fighting is just what Satan orders to render Christianity and your faith useless. John 10:10 tell us what Satan wants to do he is the thief and he wants to steal from you but Jesus came to counter that attack.

Fall for Satan’s deceit and you are useless in God’s order of preaching the Gospel to the lost.

We can disagree on many things theology, doctrine, pro gun ownership but when we let this cloud our love from each other we lost and Satan has blocked you and your power in reaching the lost.

I’m not asking you to be a drone as some people think Christians are I’m asking will you forgive me. I believe what I believe, in private ownership and my responsibilities to my fellow man if you don’t agree then please just forgive me.

Maybe we just don’t think on the same level or have competing ideas but if you believe Jesus came, died and rose again to save mine and your soul then we do agree on something bigger than a gun or the constitution and that we can agree on.

COMMENTS 1

whoopi

Ignorant  statement of the week has to go to Whoopi Goldberg for her interview on CNN as she weighed in on Pope Francis’s visit to the United States. Breibart gives a great story well worth reading but if you don’t have the time let’s just take a few lines to go over some of her absurdity.

Whoopi a professed humanist states “this guy, you know, he read the book. He gets it.” You mean Pope Francis reads his Bible well we should hope so, he is kind of the head guy at the Catholic Church and he does profess to know Jesus and often tells how you too can know him.  Oh yeah the book that is called the Bible you can say that on CNN Whoopi you won’t burst into flames.

Whoopi’s main concern is Pope Francis states there is nothing in the Bible about abortion so we ought not to condemn women for getting them. Interesting enough the CNN reporter did ask what about thou shall not kill; that would be the 6th commandment CNN and I’m shocked somebody at CNN thinks abortion is murder.

Now mind you one cannot expect Sir Francis to have to explain every statement he makes, like Whoopi says the Pope reads the Bible and maybe you Miss Goldberg should too.

Open to Leviticus 24:17, then to Deuteronomy 5:17, then to 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 then to Romans 6:23 (little bit of salvation in that one) and then maybe top it off with Luke 10:27. There is enough scripture about not killing or murdering as there is about God’s salvation.

Mind you Whoopi just shrugged off the CNN reporter’s question on thou shalt not kill (again wow even CNN thinks abortion is murder) to say that well if we follow that commandment “thou shalt not kill” then what about war. Well Whoopi I don’t know what about war; too late to ask Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini those questions maybe try asking Boko Haram.

Whoopi goes on to ramble that Pope gets it because he does not judge or criticize a woman for getting abortion. Well the issue is Christians are not judging women who get the abortion but those who deceive women and spread the lies of needing an abortion.

I can see it looks like an easy way out for anyone to have an abortion, to get sucked into this lie that it’s my body, my decision my right to have an abortion and that is plainly a lie from groups like Planned Parenthood. Real choice is keeping it or giving the child up for adoption, choosy moms choose life.

It’s not the person having the abortion that is necessarily a condemning factor but the person that deceive another into having an abortion that is most upsetting.

Pope Francis and the Catholic Church are not for and have never been for abortion for any reason. Yes it’s easy to understand why a woman would get an abortion so there are no excuses for the condemnation and judgment to those who would lie to somebody that is in need of salvation not a surgical procedure.

MONDAY THOUGHTS 1

monday1

Greetings this Monday; some of us decompressing over the weekend depending on what we did. I guess the big news of the week going through the weekend has been the visit of Pope Francis. He has gone home now but as Monday arises I can see a division of both Catholics and Protestants, liberals and conservatives over Sir Francis’s visit to my country.

I can only offer my opinion as to why this is, why one man can divide when such a visit should be unity. First to my Catholic friends there is no disrespect to the Catholic doctrine on my part I’m only giving my assessment of Francis’s visit. I know Catholics will say they are not the cause of such division and I also know Pope Francis has an agenda and I’m sure has no plans to change that agenda.

The reason why there is and maybe continue to be a division is simply Pope Francis is a socialist and he brought his Marxist ideas with him. If you don’t think Sir Francis is a socialist you need to lift your head out of the sand.

I personally felt if you get a chance to speak in front of Congressmen and Senators and you are a professed man of God you need to preach the Gospel not preach your political agenda. Open the speech up with prayer for one; condemn abortion and the funding of groups that would sell murdered body parts it’s not enough to just say all life is precious when Planned Parenthood is buying  Lamborghini’s off the organs of our unborn children.

A statement was made that Pope Francis’s visit to America was a slap in conservative’s faces and I have to agree with that, it’s also a big letdown of one person not preaching the Gospel.

I know Catholics by in large love this man so do liberals and that alone sets off red flags in my direction. What is most disheartening to me was a few comments I made on twitter this week and the comments it received by what I considered as good conservative men of God that happened to be Catholic. It broke my heart to hear such comments I will not go into details and who left the comments but if you know what the word idolatry means there is a big concern here for me and for Christians that praise one man might need to do a personal heart to God’s heart check on themselves.

The other big news item of course is Donald Trump, a few of my aunts and uncles have been out my way for a visit this week asked me what I thought of Mr. Trump and my statement was “I wish he would leave and let people like Cruz and Jindal takeover”

If you think Trump is the GOP saving grace you could be right but I don’t think he is. Like Jeb Bush said on Fox News (no I’m not a Bush fan) check back with me in two months and see where we are, Responding to Trumps popularity.

I agree with Jeb I really don’t think Trump can debate well. I mean watch him in a debate, he calls people names, says I can do better than you, almost childlike responses.

Is Trump better than any democrat well yeah that’s a no brainer. It’s also a testament to a candidate that gets into it with Trump like what Rubio has been doing, shows me Rubio needs to drop out he is way too inexperienced to be running a campaign as is Trump. As a Christian Trump is all over the place, I like how he has pandered to the Christian GOP group but I’m not sold on if he really knows who Jesus is.

Boehner resigns yippy it about time don’t let actually let the door hit you as you leave you have been an embarrassment to the GOP and have done nothing to further the advancement of America. When fools like Harry Reid say it’s a loss for Boehner to leave that is when you know it’s time for fools like Boehner to leave, McConnell needs to follow right behind him.

These are my thoughts this Monday feel free to add your own and enjoy the week.

THE FALL

Reuters-Bill-Cosby-Sweatshirt

For those of us who grew up from the mid 90’s and beyond most had a funny face in their heart when actor/comedian Bill Cosby came on the TV.

Cosby once an icon of humor and family values could do no wrong.
When the accusations started that Cosby had drugged and assaulted people I can only imagine what crossed everyone’s mind.

Some thought it was an attack of the Left by liberals that were trying to sabotage Cosby for speaking out against President Obama others just thought no way and finally the truth comes out.

So how do we explain this, as a conservative it tears at you that a once family values man was half a lie. As a Christian I don’t see disgust but I do see disappointment, but with God’s grace can good come out of this?

The atheist might view Cosby as basic human corruption, nothing new here we would maybe expect this from all humans some will act and some will refrain that is just the way some of us turn out.

The Hindu or Easter philosophy enacts the uncontrollable act of karma in which the offender will have no real knowledge or understanding of their punishment just that their death will possibly reincarnate something vile, no chance to escape no forgiveness in sight.

How do we explain this to the person that sees this as a total loss in humanity? I’m sure there are some out there that have been hurt by this news.

Cosby’s family for one has been majorly impacted and there are those that would view this as a complete devastation, why would somebody do this? How can we turn this around for God?

Well for one this shows us we are all fallible without God.
Without Jesus hypocrisy is the norm and it becomes you.

Mr. Cosby showed the world that people are not always what they seem to be,we advertise one thing and do another. But with Jesus this is not so, Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Romans 16:18 defines the Cosby situation well the problem is how can a person acquires these negative attributes? For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own [a]appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.”

If we were to put our faith and trust in God could this be the remedy? When people ask or say where is this going who can we trust? Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

As much as the Cosby situation is alarming and disturbing we can use this to tell others that trusting in humans will always lead to disappointment while trusting in God will never disappoint.

THE THREAT

islam-atheism-300x103

After reading a small article from Applied Apologetics entitled “Irrationality and Mocking are the Tools of Atheism Since It Lacks Proof and is Impossible” where they gloss over a major point between the threat or depending on who you are the difference between Islam and Atheism and it struck me as I too feel the real threat is not the ridiculing and name calling from atheist but the threat of Islam.

In fact with Islam major amounts of disinformation, lies and terroristic brainwashing is continually going on to the point we have a global threat a major cancer in the mist of mankind.

Islam boast more than a billion believers atheist not so much. Atheist rarely threaten with Bodily harm with Islam very much so.

Islam is no religion of peace no matter how much they box it up and package it. Jesus never killed anyone but came to save everyone by sacrificing himself for everyone while Mohammad killed people and Allah did less than Jesus ever did for mankind.

When people leave ISIS, ISIS curses them and sets out to kill them. When a person leaves the church, more times than not they pray for that person.

I’m not saying atheism is a lost cause by no means no way. But realistically at times it’s childish to debate with atheist, humanist, secularists and any other ism that’s out there, that just need to stop listen and start discerning their own beliefs.

Hurling insults and trolling blogs and forums make for an entertaining day for both sides but the reality is Islam is more dangerous. Not only does Islam steal the soul but they kill the body as well.

We still cannot allow scientism or darwinism to control our society it too will result in loss of freedom of the intellectual mind and soul but even with that it may not have any bearing in a society that trades it freedom for a religion of spiritual and physical death.

THOUGHTS OF THE DAY: 3

IS TOLERANCE DISRESPECTFUL

got tolerance 2

Last week I asked the question “Is tolerance disrespectful” and I got a few answers that are not fully direct like I thought they would be. My friend Bryan from So Cal said “tolerance was disrespectful only for yourself” and there is a lot of truth to that. Another FB friend Brenda said “If you do it on a daily basis for the same thing then yes you are being disrespectful“.

Now mind you the general idea of tolerance in the minds of Hollywood and the Left, tolerance is good and it’s what will save humanity from itself. Tolerance lets us get a long in spite of our differences.

I have to be honest I really never gave it a thought to what tolerance stood for, I probably felt you were being kind or compromising by tolerating a person, act or a situation. It was not until I was listening to Michael Ramsden an apologetics and evangelist that cleared it up for me.

Tolerance is disrespectful, Ramsden uses the west and it’s tolerance to Islam as an example. Islam sees the west as just tolerating its way of life, its religion and that does not sit well with Isamist.

Islam demands respect and when you tolerate them you are saying I don’t like you but you can still practice your religion and way of life but in reality I don’t care or respect you please don’t bother me.

Islam views this with great disrespect and it’s no wonder the west and Islam are at odds.

It’s a double edge sword no matter what decision the west makes they cannot win unless the west either quits extending its arms out to Islam or completely surrenders to Islam.

If they quit extending their arms out then they are at odds and war, if they surrender then the west is no longer the west and everything from technology to our religion changes.

Now it’s a tat bit different on a personal level, the loss of respect comes to you the tolerator over the tolerated.

We really don’t care for the person, situation, or whatever act is being done but we allow it or just don’t say anything because we are tolerating to keep the peace. I’m not disrespecting you to your face but you are to my face but I’ll deal with it to keep the peace.

If we are tolerating the person, situation or act that we feel is not satisfactory with what we believe in, in a way by not telling the truth we are disrespecting ourselves and our way of life. Do we do this as a one time thing out of respect or do it until it becomes a compromise?

Do we do tolerate to keep the peace or just be friendly, some would say never stop but do we keep tolerating even when the offensive destroys a way of morality and since the worlds definition of morality is so relative I will define morality as Biblical morality.

Should we be full on truthful and tell that someone or the situation we just don’t like it, them or what they do. Like my friend Brenda that said if you do it all the time you are being disrespectful and I agree but are you being more disrespectful to yourself than the person or thing you are tolerating?

Now I’m not saying we should be rude to everyone that we don’t agree with let me be clear, that is being disrespectful. With that said there are things that will affect us, or families and our way of life that cannot be compromised and if we keep on tolerating or compromising on these things and issues then you can expect to lose them in the name of tolerance.

When should truth take the stand, do we tolerate a crying baby in a movie theater and just wait the crying out to spare feelings?

Do we tolerate hate speech in the name of free speech, do we tolerate decisions made based on lifestyle in the name of personal freedom or do we tolerate and disrespect ourselves in the name of getting along. And if we do tolerate in the name of getting along do we have a limit on how much we tolerate or is it a given we tolerate everything no matter what we compromise.

When should truth take the stand, when your sense of morality is being broken in the name of freedom to do as I please?

Do we speak up when our rights are being questioned or taken away on the basis of fairness?

Do we speak up and tell the truth when we see our families forced to relearn or be a part of something that is morally objectionable to our way of life our moral upbringing or do we stay silent and disrespect ourselves so as our names and lives are not drag down in the mud of disrespectfulness to the offender.

If we are to believe tolerance is actually a good thing then we have to expect both sides to practice this good thing fairly.

If tolerance is a part of fairness and getting along then people that expect their way of life to be respected also need to respect the rest of society’s way of life and that includes the right to be for or against that way of life.

If we toss away morality, we toss away the Bible, God, and mans sinful nature for tolerance then we either practice fairness across the board or we prepare for all out war.

Either way if you stand for Biblical morality the Decalogue and not stand for tolerance and moral compromise then you can still expect all out war.

At the top I gave the liberal definition to tolerance and the way I see it that is not tolerance, what they define as tolerance is what I would call truth and respect of a difference of opinion or way of life.

The reason why they define it as tolerance,  Leftist do not believe in truth they find that disrespectful.
