END OF THE WEEK THE LOW DOWN DIRTY SHAME OF IT ALL
January week two and another odd week at that, the elephant in the room is Paris and the attack on freedom of speech and freedom in general. There is more to this and tons of articles out there Brietbart.com captures the headlines and as the days have gone by more opinions come to the forefront.
Most everyone is outraged and for good reason, nowhere in the Christian theology is this condoned. When Jesus confronted blasphemy he never used deadly force, he drove out the blasphemous and set an example of how to respect God.
God does not command this behavior and Jesus never taught it, forgive and turn the other cheek kind of opposite of kill the offender. Another article by the Catholic league gives a response to the attack. Mind you the magazine Charlie Hebdo is an equal opportunity offender of religious blasphemy, they have offended the Catholic Church over and over again some very nasty stuff against nuns and priest.
The Catholic league’s Bill Donohue gives a somewhat odd response and some like myself can take it as though Charlie Hebdo not only should have expected this but kind of deserved this. Donohue goes on to say he has himself protested some of the defaming of the church and God but has never once felt like killing anyone and of course one would expect that answer he should have just kept his mouth shut if you ask me.
On the same note this article from the USA Today’s Anjem Choudary that can read similar to Donahue’s but again Donahue and the Catholic church do not and will never condone violence under any circumstance where as Anjem obviously does.
This was a sad day to say the least and we must now except that in the west we not only can say good things about religion and God we can even say bad things as well but these third world countries like North Korea, middle east and some of Africa you cannot they are still in the 1st century and have no concept of individuality and freedom so seller beware.
I look at Christianity as an individual relationship that requires you to be accountable for the decisions you make. God does not condone nor does Jesus teach violence towards offenders. We do not attack them in masses but instead we pray for them in masses both the offenders and the offensive.
Next up speaker of the house John boring Boehner gets elected speaker once again they just don’t learn folks but my question is will we learn. Although some current GOP conservatives who voted for boring John state it’s what we need to do to get stuff done. Bill Bennet former secretary of education under Reagan said on his radio show a few days ago it does not matter if Boehner or Trey Gowdy is speaker with Obama in the white house its bad news all around and I’m inclined to agree.
I wrote a blog a few months ago stating that 2014 win for the GOP could mean a loss in 2016 if our Congress and Senate do not represent the people like they were voted in for then we are in for more bad days I’m afraid.
Two blogs I post this week one going over true freedom and how in order to have true freedom we will have to embrace our fears; we cannot have the government safety blanket and still have freedom.
Next blog I went over a good article from NPR of all places and broke down how we do not have to follow our wants and desires that lead us to immoral or unethical behavior but God can help us choose a good bath if we let him help us.
Some good reads: From Charisma Magazine Duck Dynasty’s the beardless Robertson Al and his wife get asked how they would respond if their grandchild came out gay.
Also from Charisma a good vid that has atheist wanting an apology for showing the video correlating religion and democracy.
Another article about the Pope embracing climate change, if Francis does embrace climate change it will put Catholics in a bind since he is promoting communism whether he believes it or not it’s nothing short of communism.
Hope everyone around our great nation is staying warm while we here in California enjoy the high life; don’t be jealous we pay big for this kind of weather. Enjoy the next week and stay safe friends.
